Report: Switch 2 Announcement Expected This Week

Reliable leaker and podcaster, Nate the Hate, announced on his podcast that the Switch 2 will be announced this Thursday, 16th January. Meanwhile, Tom Warren of The Verge corroborated on X that a Switch 2 reveal is expected this week.

While Nintendo has yet to make an official statement, the credibility of both Nate the Hate and Tom Warren suggests the announcement is likely.

Nintendo is expected to unveil the hardware, with the Switch 2 games lineup at a later date. I would not be surprised - given the current trends - if the Switch 2 launch lineup is leaked ahead of Nintendo's announcement.

Personally, I'm hoping for Splatoon 4 on launch. Splatoon 3 recently ended its major updates, with the only new additions being splatfest themes. Mario Kart 9 is currently rumored to be a Switch 2 launch title, which would be a good move considering how much longevity Mario Kart 8 had throughout the Switches life cycle.

I'm going to keep this page updated for any more news rather than posting a new article, so check back for more information.

OnLeaks, in collaboration with 91mobiles, shared a 360-degree render of the Nintendo Switch 2 telling us the following:

I write about video games for consoles and PC. I tend to gravitate to RPG's, looter shooters, hero shooters, and the occasional 4x or card game. I'm a big fan of the Witcher Series (but not the netflix series) and the Destiny franchise, but I play nearly every big release that comes out with indie games sprinkled into the mix.
